Perfect Weekend!

We had a rainy, cloudy, dark, ugly weekend and it was the BEST weekend ever! Why?? I'll tell you why. My mom hung out with me all weekend! She only worked for 2 hours on Saturday and other than that she was home with me and I have the pictures to prove it!
Here's a picture of my cute little feet! I thought JB's mom would appreciate this one cause she likes to take pictures of JB's feet!
Don't get mad at me New York dawgs but I hope it rains again next weekend!!!!

Fleas!

I have heard it said that every creature is here for a reason but can someone please explain to me the reason for fleas? While you're at it, how about ticks? I have a problem with fleas. One single flea is all it takes to drive me psycho! At this time of the year in particular I seem to get a few fleas. My mom had to take me to the V-E-T two weeks ago because I ended up with hot spots where these little pests bit me. I went on steroids and antibiotics. My mom gave me a flea bath and put some junk on my back. A couple of days ago I started itching again and she found 4 fleas on me! She went and bought me an expensive flea collar and dipped me in a pail with flea killer in it. The V-E-T gave her more steriods (very low dose) but I haven't taken any of it. She also gave me some pills to take for 3 days that kill fleas. I haven't taken them yet either because the flea collar seems to be working and my mom doesn't want to kill ME with chemicals. She washed all the bedding in the house and vaccuumed the floors. We have had fleas in the house before but she didn't find any this time. My mom thinks I'm getting them from the stray cats so she's considering buying flea collars for all of them too... Who would think such a little thing could cause sooooo many problems? Is there a flea hit man out there anywhere? I could probably pay you in Beggin Strips.

Thankful Thursday on Tuesday

I feel very thankful to have so many very good friends through DWB. I've been blessed with awards lately and feel very humbled by all of your kindnesses. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making me feel so special! My little chihuahua head is getting too big for my little chihuahua body so now it's time for me to paw it forward.

This wonderful award was given to me by my cousin Rambo in Califormia, and my friends Huskee in Singapore and Lorenza in Mexico. The rules are:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of those you have nominated.

I nominate Sissy, Tinky & Jonesy, Pink Chihuahua Princess, Jackson & Patrick and Powderpuff. Though these are only 4 blogs, they represent over 7 dawgs and I miss them all because they haven't posted in a long time. So puppies and your humans, my mom and I miss you and want you to know we love your blogs and hope you will come back soon!

This award is very similar to the previous award and equally as special. I received this award also from my friend Lorenza. Lorenza is a true blue blogger who is such a good friend to so many of us. Lorenza's mom has been having some bad luck lately - she hurt her toe, then her tooth and now her finger! Thank goodness Lorenza is there to comfort her and thank goodness Lorenza is there for all of us too! The rules for this award are the same as the previous award so I would like to pass it on to Rambo & Midget Molly, Deetz, Gizmo, Dobby, Jemma, Poppy and Gus, Louie & Callie.

My friend Gizmo all the from Australia gave me this award which was started by Rusty. Rusty says there are no rules for this award. Rusty is the Vice Presidential running mate with Tuffy who is running for President of the United States. I think the time has come to put a dawg in the White House. How about you? This is the year history will be made. I'd like to pass this award on to JB and Rambo, my best cat and dawg buds!

This last award was given to me by Lorenza. This is the explanation given with the award:

"todas nos encanta los blogs, en la mayoría sus objetivos son mostrar las maravillas y hacer amistades; hay personas que no se interesan cuando les damos un premio y de esta manera contribuyen a cortar esos lazos; ¿queremos que se corten o se propaguen? Entonces tratemos de prestar más atención a ellos! Debemos entregarlo a otros blogger's que deben hacer lo mismo y poner el texto"

I did a Spanish to English translation on Google:

"We love all the blogs, most objectives are to show the wonders and make friends, there are people who are not interested when we give them a prize and thus help to cut those ties, do we want to be cut or spread? Then we try to give more attention to them! We must give it to other blogger's who should do the same and put the text."

I take this to mean we should pass on awards in order to keep them going and encourage other bloggers. I'm going to pass this award on to Rambo, Mandy & Tuffy, Mango, Goofy and Amber!

Thanks to every dawg, kitty, hampster and human for being my friend! How's that for a Thankful Thursday on Tuesday?!

Me No Like Ike!

My mom finally came home last night! I was soooooo happy to see her. She was delayed in Houston because of Hurricane Ike. Though her family's house didn't get damaged they were without power for 4 days! Mom said she had alot of cold showers. I'm so glad she's home, BUT she says I look like a fat sausage and I have to go on a D-I-E-T! Ah, mom, when you leave me at home with Dad for a whole week what do you expect?
Because of the hurricane my mom was not able to go online the whole time she was in Texas. Wow! We are sooo lucky to have so many good friends stopping by to see how we were doing. It may take awhile but we will be visiting all your blogs as soon as we can. Thanks for all your support.
Rambo gave me an award! He says he loves my blog and I love his too! I know I've said it before but Rambo is the reason I started blogging in the first place. I also received this very nice award from Lorenza and Huskee too! Please forgive me if I don't play by the rules this time. I can't possibly choose just 7 other blogs I love because I love all your blogs! So to all my dawg, cat, hampster and human friends - this one's for you!!!

Overwhelming Gratitude

Thank you all so much for your prayers for my family. On Sunday, August 31st my mom's nephew and his wife were in a motorcycle accident. My mom and her nephew are the same age and grew up more like siblings rather than aunt-nephew. He sustained multiple fractures including ribs and shoulder bones, along with a collapsed lung. He underwent surgery to have a plate put in his shoulder and was released from the hospital late last Friday evening. His wife sustained a severe head injury despite the fact that she was wearing a helmet. Early Sunday morning, after being in a coma for nearly a week, she succumbed to her injuries. She was 47 years old. They have four children, all in their early 20's.
.
This is such a sad time for our whole family. My mom was very grateful that she was with Leah in West Virginia when they got the news. My mom is back home now and will leave for Texas on Thursday morning. After she returns we will remove this post and the previous post as they would be a constant reminder of unbearable sadness and this is not how she wants her niece remembered. She was such a kind and loving person always ready with a big smile and laugh. She enjoyed life and they had the kind of marriage most can only dream about. We were lucky to have her in our family and will miss her for the rest of our lives.
.
Our pain has been made less by the unwavering support of the Dogs With Blogs community. Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers.
