Snuck One In!

Hahaha, Leah snapped this picture of me and Mom while Mom was sleeping. Look at how she sleeps! No wonder her carpal tunnel is giving problems...

Scrappy Doo!

My mom thinks I look like this cartoon character - Scrappy Doo. He does look pretty tough, & I am a tough Chi-chi-wa-wa that's for sure. But I don't know, he's all one color & I have many colors. Also, I looked online & he's supposed to be a great dane puppy. He is pretty cool though & he likes Scooby Snacks & I love Beggin Strips. I guess it's ok that my mom calls me Scrappy Doo.

See How TOUGH I Am!!

What! Ziggy, do you really think you can get away with licking me on the face?! Yuck, I'll show you Ziggy.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I hope you've learned your lesson Ziggy!

My Sister, Jessie

This is my human sister Jessie. She is the older of my two sisters. She's in college right now but comes home at lunch to see me and Ziggy. Today she took us for a walk on the beach. After we went over to the bay and she caught some snails for me to sniff and lick. That was really nice of her! Ziggy was wading in the water and it made me a little nervous so I cried a bit. Jessie thought that meant I wanted to go in the water to so she let me have a little swim. I'm really not much of a swimmer but it was kind of fun. When we got home she gave me a nice warm bath. After Jessie, Ziggy and I were relaxing on the couch. It's very tiring to have so much fun. Think I need to take a dog nap. Doesn't that sound better than cat nap?

Tweedle Tweedle Cluck Cluck

This bright orange thing is Edward the Canary. We call him Eddie. He's not looking so handsome right now because he's molting. He probably weighs about two ounces but he makes more noise than something 100 times his size. His cage is in the living room on top of the shelves with the tv and stereo. When we watch tv Eddie starts singing all his songs. On and on and on and on. He can sing louder than I can bark. One of his songs sounds like a car alarm! When my mom vaccuums Eddie sings really loud while I try to kill the machine. Ziggy, on the other hand, is afraid of the vaccuum. What a big sissy!
These are our chickens, Bunny and Chip. They haven't been laying eggs because they're pretty old. When they did lay eggs Chip's were pink and Bunny's were green! They're Americanas or Auracanas, and sometimes are called Easter Egg chickens. They might start laying eggs again when it gets warm. I'm a little skeptical of these birds. They're not afraid of me at all, even when I bark at them. Bunny has even tried to peck me! Plus, they're bigger than me! That's just wrong...

Spring, YES!

Ahhhhhh, it's so nice to hang out in the hammock with Jessie and soak up the warm spring sun! I was beginning to think winter would never end. It's still not as warm here as it is where my cousin Rambo lives in California, but our yard is starting to turn green and the daffodils and forsythia are blooming. Soon the lilacs will bloom and the trees will get leaves. My mom took Ziggy and me to the beach on Saturday and we had a good time running around in the sand. Ziggy even started to go in to the ocean until my mom told him to get out. When we got home he went out on the loop-lock pool cover and laid down in the water. That water is freezing! Mom and Dad took off the cover to pump it down a week ago and the water was only 44 degrees. Mom bet Leah $50 that she would not jump in the deep end. Guess what - she did it! Leah wanted a new pair of pants and the $50 was all the motivation she needed to brave the frigid water! Sometimes humans aren't so smart...

A Dog's Work is Never Done...

Hi everybody. I'm working hard on some new posts for my blog. I still have family members to introduce you to but some of them aren't cooperating about getting their picture taken (ahem.... Mom!)
Hey, do you like my new Vote for Pedro t-shirt? As a rule, I really don't like to wear clothes. When I have clothes on I'm afraid to pee and it's hard for me to walk. I like to be au-natural... I guess I'm just a nudist at heart. What can I say? I'm such a good lookin dawg I like to show off my stuff! I do have to admit though, this is one cool t-shirt! My mom got it at a place called http://www.cafepress.com/.

This is a Dogg??

I don't think I've ever seen a dog that looks like this before. Must be some kind of Poodle or an Afgan or maybe a Labradoodle or something? Dude, I feel sorry for you. You're groomer must be on vacation!

Yum, Pudding!

Oh yeah! Pudding & Cool Whip. What could be better than that? I love it when my mom shares with me but I think she can be a bit stingy. Come on Mom, leave more for me!

A Man and His Couch

A man, a couch, his dog and a remote. What more could a guy ask for? This is my dad on his favorite couch. I think it has some sort of spell on it cause the minute he lies down on it he starts making REALLY LOUD noises with his nose. When I go up to check it out the same thing happens to me!

Her Royal Highness, The Queen

If I am the King, Libby is the Queen. She is the Queen of the House, I have to admit it. Libby is a Maine Coon Cat. My mom paid $120 for her 12 years ago. She was named Libby because my mom and Leah were in Liberty, Maine when they got her. She's really smart and is alot like a dog which makes her a pretty cool cat. Two years ago on May 31st (when she was 10 years old) Libby was outside hunting voles when a really, really bad dog came into our yard and attacked her. The dog was a rottenwhiler. He shattered her back leg so bad that it had to be putated (that means cut off!) She was really sick and had to get blood from nice cats that donated it. After 5 days my mom told the doctors that she wanted to bring her home because she didn't want her to die in the hospital. My mom slept with Libby and woke up all night long to make sure she was still breathing. After a couple of days Libby started to get better! Libby didn't like the hospital, she just wanted to come home to be with mom. So now she only has three legs. She uses my stairs to get up on the couch or my mom's bed. I have to make sure I go to bed before her or she steals my spot by mom. When she's not looking, I eat her food!! hahaha

Kids

My cousin Rambo and I are on the same page when it comes to small humans - stay away from us! Rambo once ran away and got lost in the woods in New Jersey for 9 whole days because of a kid. These two boys were the first kids I ever met and they scared the dawg poop out of me. Now when I see small humans I let them know who's boss. If you're a kid you better not try to touch me because I will bite you!

Stinky...

This is another one of those damn cats that live in MY house. His name is Stinky and let me tell you that is the PERFECT name for him. He STINKS! My mom found him in a parking lot one day at the Rite Aid store in town. When she opened her car door Stinky ran over and jumped in. He was really friendly but smelled like a dumpster. She took him home for the night then brought him back to the store in the morning. After work that day she went back to Rite Aid, opened the car door and he jumped in. She put up flyers but no one called to claim him. So after a few days of picking him up at night and dropping him off in the morning she decided he could stay. He fights alot and gets all scabby. He almost died last summer and we found out he has FIV. We don't know how much longer he'll be around but he doesn't seem to be in a hurry to go any where. Too bad he stinks so bad! I stay away from him. He scares me.

Sleepy Sunday!

This is Tommy, one of the felines that lives in my house. He's an ok cat. Sometimes he's nice to me, sometimes he's not. He will chase me and I like that but he will use his claws when I get too close. Yesterday he was so tired he didn't mind that I used him as a pillow. His yellow fur is so soft! He's kind of gross though - he drools when you pet him.

I went for a really long walk on a leash with two of my people yesterday and they were very proud of me. I get a little freaked out by that leash thing but they're happy when I use it so maybe I'll stop fighting it. I was SO tired last night that I just couldn't keep my eyes open! Whew, Ziggy went with us but my little legs had to do so much more work than his! I think I'll sleep for the next 2 days!!

My Family

I though the best way to get started would be to introduce you to my family, human, feline, canine, and fowl. Lets start with canine. My big bro, Ziggy, is one handsome dog - almost as good lookin as me and Rambo! He can't help it if he wasn't born a chi. This dog is something special. My mom says he could do me in with one snap of his jaw but he has never ever hurt me. He lets me lie on him and beat him up. He doesn't complain when I eat his food and he doesn't even get jealous when I get all the attention. What's really impressive is he doesn't stink! His breath is pretty good too - sometimes I use him as a water fountain. My mom thinks that's disgusting but she just doesn't understand dog ways. I am one lucky dog to have Ziggy as my big bro!

Hey - I'm Pedro!

Shhh! My mom is sleeping. I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to give this blog thing a try. My friend Rambo has his own blog and it's so much fun to read about his adventures and see his pictures. So I want to share some of my life with everyone too. Plus my girl, Leah, is going to college in September so this will be a way for her to see me in case she gets homesick. I know she's going to miss me the most because I am the King of the house. I hope you'll come visit me here often!!
