Paltry Pickins

Mom took Ziggy and me for another walk on the beach today. It was much, much warmer and less windy than the last time we went but she still made me wear a coat. This particular coat is Leah's favorite. We looked for beach glass to fill our coffee table but today the pickens were paltry. Mom has an eagle eye when it comes to beach glass hunting. Can you see the beach glass in this picture? Here it is. When we walk on the beach I usually stay right behind my mom the whole time but today I decided to go see what Ziggy was up to so I strayed away from her for a minute. I forgot to ask her if it was ok first and when she looked behind her to make sure I was still there she FREAKED out! Pedro! Pedro! PEDRO!!! Chill out Mom, I was right here behind this big stick! After she found me she tried to get Ziggy and I to pose for her. That brought back memories of our Christmas card photo shoot but this time we got the picture on the 1st try. As we were walking my mom had this brilliant idea! As you can see, our coffee table has 4 sections. Two sections are pretty full with all the beach glass and shells we've found so far. We're going to start working on the 3rd section soon BUT we have a great idea for the 4th section! We think it would be so much fun if each of you would send us a shell or rock from where you live. We would love to have a Dogs With Blogs section of our coffee table with treasures from all over the world. So if you would like to participate this is what you need to do:

1. Find a rock or shell that is no bigger than 3/4" or 2 centimeters tall

2. Take a picture of yourself looking for the rock/shell

3. Email me the picture and snail mail me the rock/shell

4. I will then take a picture of your rock/shell in my coffee table and post it on my blog
.
If you have the DWB Christmas Card list you have my mailing address. If you don't have the list, email me and I will send you my mailing address. I think this will be a really fun project and I hope you all send me a beautiful shell or rock from your neck of the woods!

Hi Pedro, your blue coat is beautiful, I can see why it is Leah's favorite.

My mum loves your mums coffee table. We have lots of shells in our house as well because my mum used to collect them when she was little. She doesn't have alot of time to do so now though, but if she does find the time, we will surely send them on to you.

Your coffee table is GORGEOUS. We love it!! We'll try and look for a nice rock on our walks, but we never see anything as pretty as the ones your mom already has found. Maybe when the weather gets even better and we get to go to the beach...

Love,
Jemma

What a great idea! When it warms up, we'll hunt for a very special rock for you! When our mom is worrying about something, she rock-hunts in our yard. What a silly woman! She says that when she rock-hunts, her only thought in the whole world is where to stick her rock-picker-upper next. We have bazillions of rocks, but no shells or beach glass.

Hi Pedro! I just came over from Deetzy's place. What a great idea! My mom goes to the beach all the time (but dogs aren't allowed on the beach - you're so lucky!) and she always sees cool shells and rocks. I'll email you so we can get your mailing address, and the next time she goes to the beach she'll look for something for you.

See ya!

What a great idea! I'm a huge sea glass hunter myself, as I use it in a lot of the jewelry I make. The boys haven't been to the beach yet, so this might be a good excuse to go if we can get a warm day here...

Hey Pedro! I have to apologize, I did not mean to lead you astray. I see you stopped by my place and thought it was warm where I live. Mom couldn't get a new picture of me last night for Wordless Wed. so I dug into my files some from last summer. Sigh! It's not warm enough yet for swimmin' but hopefully in a couple months. But we don't have your pile of snow either. Be careful and don't get lost in that tall white stuff.
